View from Chicago Avenue in the front of the El. I like the front.

Taking the El to work is a heck of a lot better than driving. With my current setup it’s just a short walk, a short (and usually crowded) train ride and a hop/skip/jump to work taking around 25 minutes like shoddy clockwork. Equip yourself with noise isolating headphones or a book and you’re all set.

This morning I rode my bike to work and the difference is amazing. Going to the El and taking it is so automatic, I’m always half asleep until I get to my desk. Riding to work is a rush – having to navigate traffic and everyone seems to be gunning for me: cabs making random stops, buses, random car doors flying open, pot holes, right-hand turn lanes that merge into bike lanes (when the bike lanes exist), El girders sticking out of the street... It’s a welcome change from being a passive El zombie.

Having hydrogen peroxide pored in your ear is one of the fun-est things you can do on a Monday night! It tickles!

First quarter 2006 is gone already! Didn’t do much except go to the gym, got out a little and had Dave mess up my shit a few times. Oh! and worked. work work work!

Nothing will make your writing more ignorable than exclamation points!!!

I am going to start biking to work (and most other places) soon. I figure it has to be the form of commute most likely to kill me unless I try something involving skydiving, "subway surfing" or cart-wheeling down the middle of the streets.

I really enjoyed the films Matchpoint and 2046. Any recommendations?

Q*Bert and cheap booze (found at the Rainbow Club) has got to be one of the best combos ever.
