Twenty Six
Ba-BAM! You’re done Twenty Five! What’s up now?!

Twenty six finds me in a great position - I am a very fortunate person.

My career is great: I am very happy with my job. I am learning new things, taking new roles and I enjoy my co-workers (one of them thought that I was turning 33 when I mentioned my birthday... I was like, what?!?).

I started taking a class at the University of Chicago’s GSB in the beginning of January to see if I want to pursue an MBA. The jury is out so far. I enjoy that I am learning new things/sharpening up but I think taking two classes (standard part time load) the work/school/life balance might be a bit off. We’ll have to see – fortunately there is no rush.

The last few months have been good socially/activities-wise. I have met some cool people who I will remain friends with. I’ve been dancing frequently, keeping in shape and started doing more photography. I also just had the most outrageous unbelievable Valentine’s Day adventure in Vegas [blog].

I am really lucky to have the family and friends that I have – thank you everyone. I have come to realize that an important goal for me is to treat the people around me with as much care, love and respect as I can [blog]. I have been trying to do something to benefit the people in my life every day and I think it has made me a lot happier.

I am also happy to report that while I had become cynical about romance I think I have been shown that I had no idea what the hell was really going on. Which is neat.

That trip blew away my wildest wet dream expectations. Thank you Gregg [Girl Talk] for having such a brilliant idea. Thank you fellow dancers (aka "The Girl Talk 10") for being so awesome.

The Adventure Begins...
By having my 9:45AM direct to Vegas flight canceled in exchange for a 6AM flight via L.A. Sweet!

So I am going to see Kanye West, Lupe Fiasco and Girl Talk at this concert in Vegas on the 14th [see concert details]. Well, actually I’ll be dancing on stage when Girl Talk is performing (in front of 7000 people) and watch the rest of the concert from back stage. WTF!?

Last Monday Girl Talk made a bulletin post that he needed extras for this show in Vegas [see the Pitchfork report]. I happened to be on myspace that Monday night and I applied shortly after I saw the post. All I thought was "man, I won’t regret not applying". Two days later in a meeting where we were planning work for the February I was asked if I planned on taking any time off – I sheepishly say "I might take three days off for this thing maybe". By Sunday (last night) I figure it’s not happening. Today during work I got the word: I’m in if I want to go. I ran off to an unused meeting room and did those celebratory jumps where you jump and spin and wave your arms around and look like an idiot. I just bought my non-refundable tickets to Vegas FTW [FTW ref].

This is nuts.
