last night was the last official party of the year, the social guys spent a ton of money and time preparing for this thing, they talked it up and predicted a huge success, and they were right, it was an excellent party.
number theory once again gave it to me right in the nutsack on friday with test 2 of the quarter, i am predicting a score in the 30-45 range. to quote Andy Lehman (4.0 cs/math extraordinaire) “the last test was difficult, this one was impossible”, of course i’m sure he gets above a 70… this quarter has not been showing the academic razzle-dazzle that i’ve been getting a bit used to. number theory almost certainly looks like a c to c+ with these last 2 test and b+ homework average. my other classes are not showing the academic prowess either. my machine game playing presentation earned a rather mediocre b (though i thought it deserved a bit better...), and cryptography is anyone’s guess. software engineering is the only class i am really confidant in getting a good grade in right now. certainly a far cry from my last 2 quarters where i was pretty confidant in at least 2-3 classes at a time.
so it looks like no one wants to live with me next year, 8 potential room mates all have something else going on for them, so i don’t know what i’m going to do…

action packed…
thursday night/friday morning we took Rory out for his 21st birthday, that was hilarious.
friday night I did Relay for Life from 6pm friday to 6am saturday. i did it last year and it was pretty fun. this year was also pretty fun, i got to play some volley ball, see nat get hypnotized and got to karaoke. karaoke? yeah, they had karaoke from like 2-4am, it was really funny. i did backup for Adrian Meadows on “Something to Talk About”, that went alright, then Eric and i did “Island in the Sun”, which seemed to go less well. i had a pretty good time with it though.
today has been a pretty big wash: exercised, helped make dinner and then watched “No Man’s Land”, a French film about the Serbian-Bosnian conflict. very well done i thought.
only 4 weeks left in the quarter. pretty scary that my junior year is almost over. the amount of stuff i have to get done in those four weeks is also scary, but let’s not think about that right now.

bleh
so, the past few times i've come to blogger to update my blog, i usually avert the disasterous uninteristing craptacular blogs that can happen when i'm not careful. so some stuff has happened, i'm on spring break right now. right before spring break i took a number theory test which was the intellectual equivelent of being thrown in a trash compacter then set on fire. it's the worst i've done on anything, ever. the test left me with that queezy feeling that i had after i totally bombed a calc2 test (after skipping a few classes to sleep and play cards, ahhhh....freshman year), where after the test i went back to my room and studied (a weird form of denial?). before that terrible display of un-intelligence, i briefly visited home to see off one of my best friends who is moving away from chicago for some time, a very strange thing because i never expected anything like that to happen. still not sure what i think about that other than other than it's weird, and my chicago area friends count has gone into a depressingly low number. so yeah, tom and i are having a nice zen sparing discussion, the results should be interisting, i bet i reach enlightenment first.
