it could only happen to you... (where you is me)

alex lo adventures through life and thinks it's pretty weird...

    9:20 PM:
it's a sad day, Mr Rogers died.

i am now home, yay.

    10:47 PM:
Take that winter quarter, you’re done! I outlasted you, though I will remember it as a Pyrrhic victory.
I will be in Chicago shortly, drop me a line if you are in the area.

    3:10 PM:
You know your birthday happens during 10th week if... you only remember it’s your birthday when you see the date when signing for your package.

Happy birthday to me, I am now old, heh.

    9:17 PM:

Terrorism forces us to make a choice. Don’t be afraid... [be terrified!] BE READY

    7:42 PM:
My personal theory is that as more blogs have appeared in my circle of friends, the level of blog output has remained constant, but the number of writers has increased.*

Also, winter quarter is the bane of my existance.

*For reference, see this blog.

    11:41 PM:
Dinner club celebrated my birthday tonight, unfortunately it will be the last appearance by Paul and one of the last for Tom, by the end of May dinner club will just be a memory. But it is awfully nice to have around while we can. Thanks to everyone who helped make it happen, it was really great :)

    11:23 PM:
i think ques put it best
In honor of Valentine's Day I figured I would give a shot at humor of today's occasion.
VD in many senses for different people of the initials.
If you have a partnet then VD means spending money on your partner or money at planned parenthood to get rid or supress the symptoms of it.
If you don't have a partner then VD is like the desert to the meal that is holiday season depression.
It is winter, it is cold, it is rainy (in Seattle)... you have just spent the holidays alone and bamm. Here comes VD with the big fuck you. This year is extra special because not only do you get to spend VD alone, but you have a 3 day weekend to spend alone... sweet.
(though a bit sloppy...)

    10:53 PM:
Do you ever think to yourself "Gosh, this Alex guy sure is sharp as a tack, sure his blog might not indicate it, but check out that resume! I bet know several people who could greatly benefit from getting his resume with a cheery personal recommendation from me. Like my aunt Agnes who’s in that new biotechnology company that needs computer scientists/programmers to do that neat stuff with the things. And my friend Jean-Paul who was mentioning to me all those unlisted entry level positions for computer programmers at his successful technology firm. And that guy who lives in that cardboard box on 5th Ave! He’s always talking about needing good entry level people to help him restart his once lucrative kidney stealing outfit. What kind of relative/friend/neighbor am I for not giving them this resume? I think it’s time to go to Kinko’s to put in a big order of copies."
Well do you? Enh? Enh?
What good are you? Seriously.

    4:40 PM:
While looking around thevault.com’s job advice area (for fun) I stumbled across “Five Jobs For A Slowing Economy” here’s a cheerful exerpt:
America is locking up more of its citizens than ever, and putting them away for longer than ever, making corrections one of the most recession proof of all industries. From 1999 to 2000, American's prison population doubled from 712,000 to 1,931,859 inmates. Now, one of every 142 Americans is in prison or jail.
yeesh
