Fall quarter, I was the master of my own destiny. I hit my studies hard, enjoyed them and did them in my own time. I did stuff with the fraternity, I did stuff with my on campus friends, I met new people, I went to places outside of Terre Haute at a rate of more than once every two weeks. I finally got it.
Or so I thought.
Over quarter break, disaster hit. Amazon was totally going to give me a job, and then they didn’t. I almost wasn’t prepared for the possibility that they would have rejected me. Confidence raddled, my next two onsite interviews were disasters. I missed tons of class, I couldn’t focus, I fell behind, I panicked, I got sick, I hid from my friends, I stayed in my room, I couldn’t get a job, I didn’t have a future, and I wasn’t going to get one, I was super sick, I was behind, argh^2.
Quarter break came, I almost cried tears of relief. I went home, reexamined myself, settled, and once again, became master of my own destiny. I do have a future, even without a job, especially without a job, an exciting one (thanks Dave), my future’s still bright, where’d I put those shades? I rocked my onsite over break like a mother fucking riot, I got a job. But hey, I don’t have to settle for the options that Rose recruiting would say I have. The best options might be hiding. The future is wide open, I’m ready to deal with that now, I have my shades on.
Spring quarter has seen me hit my rhythm again. We'll see how long I can keep it up.
Every once and a while I hit my rhythm, and then, I frequently forget. As long as I learn I will make mistakes. I have found myself becoming better at remembering. Someday, I will remember how to hit my rhythm, to take my stride, and do things right, all the time.

I’ve been accepted to the master's of bioscience program at the Keck Graduate Institute of Applied Life Sciences. If I were to go there I imagine I would focus on bioinformatics and computational biology type stuff. In the immortal words of Byrne - sweet ass.

confusion tactics
n.
1) An attempt to undo or make useless any prior learning by presenting old ideas in new baffling ways or by placing the incorrect emphasis on a trivial subject.

This first came about when I attempted to explain to Tom why I was not paying attention to what a professor was lecturing about. The professor was introducing quasiquote scheme operation to us the day before our first exam. This was clearly an attempt by the professor to screw us all. (probably unintentional).
I nearly forgot this bit of jargon until today, when my algebraic codes professor was showing a confusing way to avoid taking a straightforward nullspace of a matrix.

Exciting news, I currently have an offer from Northrop Grumman Electronic Systems in Baltimore Maryland, it is a nice offer but I still am looking at other options though, especially ones located around Chicago. Don’t forget I am still offering a reward for information leading to me getting a job.

I saw something interesting today and it has inspired a revamp of my resume section and the addition of the “find Alex a job reward” section. Spring quarter is going well and I hope everything is well with you all.
